Dunorlan Park Boats Gallery

Throughout the years...

More photos will uploaded shortly... If you have any you would like to contribute please do let us know.

Since 1954, we have been running the boats in Dunorlan Park. During that time much of the park and the world around has changed, but we are still here (although looking a little older), supplying the same good, honest fun on the water that we have always done!  It's always a pleasure to see new customers enjoying themselves, as well as the same faces that come back year after year, with stories of, 'how when they were young Mr Matchett had taught them to row'... and believe us there have been a few over the years.

If you are interested in a bit of nostalgia, we managed to find this recording of 'Soundbites from a Spa Town' which is Tunbridge Wells Museum and Art Gallery Collection Team's oral history project'. A bit of the history of how the Matchett Brothers (Norman & Ron) came to have such a entwined history with the park from where it all began for them in the 1950's.
